My name is Erin Cartwright. I am a recent college grad and soon-to-be former AmeriCorps volunteer (my terms ends June 30th), looking to gain experience and skills related to permaculture and sustainable organic farming (urban and/or rural). My first stop on my skills-seeking journey is a 37-day intensive course called Ecovillage Education US, the Premier Training for Sustainable Culture Creators in the US. The course is this summer from July 5-August 11, 2013. In order to attend this course, I need to raise $2,000 to cover tuition fees and supplies needed.
Want to know more about the course?
Based on the belief that community is a fundamental building block of sustainable culture, this course features holistic training about how communities today can thrive and radically change their lifestyles to meet the impending challenges of peak oil, climate change, and economic destabilization. The course curriculum is based on Gaia Education's Ecovillage Design Education. The course will be hosted at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage, a 60-member intentional community located in Northeastern Missouri. Upon graduating from this course, I will receive a certification from the Global Ecovillage Network, which will mean that I will be qualified to teach the Ecovillage Design Education curriculum.
