Cohere Harvest Gathering

September 21 and 22, 2013

On the autumnal equinox, September 21 and 22, Planting Possibilities Community Garden and the Roaring Fork Food Policy Council are hosting a two-day harvest gathering in beautiful Carbondale, Colorado.

Saturday, at the Third Street Center, there will be a large community potluck, thoughtful forums on restorative food systems and the gift economy, and a focus on creating a hub connecting healthy food with those who need it. That night, dance to incredible live music and DJ's, and enjoy the drum and fire performance.

Then, on Sunday, we will be sharing some of the practical skill-set for transition communities, featuring short hands-on workshops on:

  • medicinal salve making,
  • juicing,
  • shampoo and toothpaste making,
  • composting,
  • seed saving,

Plus, there will be:

  • more live music,
  • visual art,
  • yoga,
  • games,
  • a trade blanket event,
  • kids’ activities,
  • and delicious food.**

Why Fundraise?

By crowd-funding the weekend in advance we can invite everyone free of charge. We need just over three thousand dollars so we can gift our teachers, performers, and sound support for their time and devotion to giving their gift. Experiment with the gift economy by taking part in a cutting edge, grass-roots effort to promote lasting, positive change.

We're confident that as we share our ideas, resources, gifts, and learn to collaborate and cooperate in creative ways, we will spark community-building projects and sustainable systems for the future. 'Coherence' is about the science and magic of unity – allowing us to relate to life with more hope, confidence and creativity. So let’s come together and take a stand for the heart-based, imaginative and thriving future we know is possible.

Enormous thanks for your generosity.
